The Wild Forest
The forest consists of two parts. Our events usually take place in the eastern part, where the clearing and the tree house are located. All information refers to this part. There are no paved paths in the forest. When it rains, all paths become very muddy.
The western entrance (meeting point for the monthly forest walks) on Georg-Wilhelm-Str. (3 minutes from the busstop Vogelhüttendeich) has a slight slope and a kerb that must be overcome. In addition, cars often park here, making access with wheelchairs or prams even more difficult.
The eastern entrance on Schlenzigstraße (approx. 10 minutes from the busstop Werkcentrum Elbinsel) is wider and usually not blocked by cars or similar, but there is also a slope here.
There is free parking on Schlenzigstraße. You can cycle into the forest
How to get to Wilhelmsburg
The WiWa, the M1 and the Infoladen are located in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg Germany. If you are travelling by public transport, take the S-Bahn to the station S Veddel. The S-Bahn is accessible at ground level. However, depending on the station (e.g. at the main station), the distance between the S-Bahn and the platform can be quite large. Wheelchair users can board at the first door where the driver can see them. The station S Veddel has a lift. It is somewhat hidden behind the stairs to the exit B.
Bus 13 runs through almost the entire neighbourhood. The bus has two wheelchair/pram spaces and fold-out ramps that must be operated by the driver or fellow passengers. Both the S-Bahn and the bus are often crowded, especially during peak hours in the morning and evening.
Ticket inspections are carried out more frequently than average at the Veddel and Wilhelmsburg S-Bahn stations and the associated bus stops. If this is an obstacle for you, please contact us for alternatives and tips.
M1
Our plenary meetings usually take place at M1 (Mokrystraße 1). M1 is accessible via two steps. A mobile ramp is available.
There are two gender-neutral toilets, which are not very spacious and are not wheelchair accessible. There is a baby changing table.
The bar and event room are smoke-free. Smoking is permitted in the basement and outside the door. A quiet room is available if required. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are available for a donation. (No alcohol is consumed at our plenary meetings.) We speak German and can translate into English if required.
Infoladen Wilhelmsburg
Our monthly KüFA (kitchen for all) takes place at the Infoladen Wilhelmsburg (Fährstr. 48). The Infoladen is accessible via three steps. A mobile ramp is available.
There is a single all-gender toilet. It is spacious but has no grab rails. There is no baby changing table.
Smoking is not permitted inside. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are available for a donation. The food we cook is always vegan.
