Where are we?

The Wild Forest is a forest covering approximately 10 hectares in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg, Germany. Wilhelmsburg is a district in the centre of Hamburg, about 20 minutes from the main station.

You can find the accessibility information here.

Arriving by public transport

The bus stop Vogelhüttendeich is only a few minutes away from the forest.
To get there, take the S3 or S5 from the main station in the direction of Stade/Neugraben/Buxtehude/Harburg Rathaus and get off at the station Veddel. Take exit B.
At the bus stop ‘Bereich A’ to the left of the exit, take bus 13 (which only goes in one direction). Take this bus to the bus stopVogelhüttendeich.

From there, walk back across the canal and turn right into the forest. There, simply follow the path along the canal, past the tree house, until you see a path leading into the bushes on the left. Go in there and walk a few more metres, then you will be in the clearing.

Alternatively, you can get off at the bus stop Werkcentrum Elbinsel and follow Schlenzigstraße to the canal. Then turn right into the forest and follow the path to the entrance to the clearing. The walk is longer, but the forest can be accessed without kerbs.

During the long vigil in 2025, the entrance to the clearing will be signposted.
