Wild Forest stays! Protestcmap: 25.9 to 04.10.2026 at the clearing in the Wild Forest in Wilhelmsburg in Hamburg

WiWa Stays! Protestcamp 25.9. – 4.10.

From Friday 25.9. to Sunday 4.10.2026 at the clearing.

Against the cutting! The Wild Forest in Wilhelmsburg has been threatened for years. The so called Spreehafenviertel is supposed to be built right in the place where currently around 10 hectare of indispensable forest are growing. The city of Hamburg is continuing to hold onto those decades old plans while we suffer new heat records each year. We need every inch of greenery that we can get in this city. And for our climate and biodiversity, these 100.00 m² of forest make a big difference.

The 4. WiWa protest camp will start at the same time as this years cutting season – for the preservation of the Wild Forest and all the other forests!

Drop by – for a few hours or some days. There is food, camping sites and adventure waiting for you. We speak German and can translate to English.

There are climbing skillshares, forest walks, music, banner painting, tree house renovating and interesting talks on our programm – there is a lot to learn, to do and to build together. Join us!
A detailes programm will follow soon <3

Open for all daily:

  • 10 o’clock – morning round: We will plan the day together and divide tasks that need to be done.

  • After that we’ll have a bonfire.

You want to learn or practice climbing or building? Contact us or just drop by!

On Thursday 24th September at 18 o’clock there will be vegan food for all at our kickoff küfa!

Directions to the clearing can be found here.

the Wild Forest is not saved!

Clearing permit revoked!

The planning permit for 800 m² of the Wild Forest has been revoked! The area was due to be cleared last winter. By occupying the forest temporarily and protesting on the street, people managed to prevent this until the court issued a temporary ban on the clearing. It seems the court’s arguments could not be refuted, so the permit has been revoked.

From October onwards, trees may in principle be felled again. However, as far as we know, there are currently no valid felling permits in place for the WiWa!

The Wild Forest is NOT saved!

Plans for the so-called Spreehafenviertel are still going ahead, and with them the destruction of the entire forest. Following the premature attempt at felling last winter, we do not trust the city not to attempt further partial clearings.

The so-called Spreehafenviertel can still be stopped and the forest saved!
